As part of the CROSSPATHS project, the Polish Academy of Sciences, In-Life, the Catholic University of Porto, the Estonian University of Life Sciences, and Wageningen University & Research have joined forces to offer a new online training course on personal leadership for early-career researchers.
The course will take place online on 16 and 17 July and will bring together 15–30 researchers in two interactive two-hour sessions. It is designed to help participants strengthen the personal and professional skills needed to thrive in complex research environments and collaborative projects.
The training will be delivered by Riti Hermán Mostert, a Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships Advisor at Wageningen Social & Economic Research with more than 20 years of experience. She specialises in Food Systems Leadership and reflexive learning.
Session 1 – Building Self-Awareness and Coping with Pressure
The first session will explore how greater self-awareness can enhance personal effectiveness and leadership. Participants will also develop practical strategies to cope with pressure, balance multiple interests, and strengthen their negotiation skills.
Session 2 – Developing Networks and Working in Teams
The second session will focus on building and leveraging professional networks, as well as fostering effective collaboration within teams. Participants will explore concepts such as network brokering and healthy team dynamics through practical exercises and group discussions.
An Interactive Learning Experience
The course combines short theoretical inputs with individual reflection, breakout group activities, case discussions, and plenary exchanges. Participants will also complete a short assignment between the two sessions, allowing them to apply the concepts to their own professional context and maximise their learning experience.
You are welcome to attend either session or both. Participation is free of charge, but registration is mandatory.
